1. Organizers: IPCA (International Physically Disabled Chess Association), Spanish Chess Federation (FEDA), Chess School “TORREvieja”, Chess Club “Dama Negra”.

4. Venue and date

  • The championship will be held in the Hotel Playas de Torrevieja***, Calle del Cabo, s/n, Torrevieja (Alicante), 03188, Spain,
  • 12th – 17th October 2022 (12th October – arrival day, 17th October – departure day).

5. Participation
Everyone disabled chess players from the tree Chess Federations (IBCA, ICCD and IPCA, including chess players in wheelchairs) – men, women and juniors (boys, girls – 2002 year of birth and younger) with the Medical Certificate about disability group in the player’s country.

All players must submit the appropriate Medical Certificate of Disability for the IPCA Medical Committee before the competition.

6. Playing system and time control

  • Swiss system for Rapid – 11 rounds according to FIDE rules of Chess.
  • Swiss system for Blitz – 13 rounds according to FIDE rules of Chess.
  • Pairing by program SwissManager.
  • Time control for Rapid: 15 minutes per game plus bonus 10 seconds per each move.
  • Time control for Blitz: 5 minutes per game plus bonus 5 seconds per each move.

7. Additional scoring system
In case of equal number of points will be used the following additional scoring system:
1) Median Buchholz, 2) Buchholz, 3) Direct result.

9. Prizes
Prizes, cups, medals and diplomas for winners in the general classification, in the classification of women and juniors (separately for Rapid and Blitz):

Cups, medals and diplomas in followings categories: the general classification, women, men and women in wheelchairs and boy-juniors and girl-juniors. Awarding will be take place only in the categories with participation at least 5 players.

10. Registration to the championship and visas

  • Registration to the 2nd IPCA Open World Individual Chess Championship for the Disabled, Rapid and Blitz 2022 by the Registration form (in attachment) until 25th September 2022, on e-mail address: Aleksandr Nazarov, inostranets-world@yandex.ru and info@ipcachess.org
  • Participants of the championship are responsible for obtain of the visas to Spain if it is needed. Support in visa matters: Aleksandr Nazarov, inostranets-world@yandex.ru
  • For the visa you should provide the following information from Passport:
    1) Surname and Name(s), 2) Citizenship, 3) Date of birth, 4) Passport number, 5) Passport expiry date, 6) Position (player, assistant, coach or another accompanying person).

11. Accommodation and meals

  • Accommodation in double / single rooms and meals in hotel: Hotel Playas de Torrevieja***, Calle del Cabo, s/n, Torrevieja (Alicante), 03188, Spain, https://hotelplayasdetorrevieja.com/en
  • Full board from dinner on 12th October to breakfast on 17th October 2022.

12. Transport: There will be arranged the transport from Alicante airport to hotel and back.

13. Payments

  • For participation of player or accompanying person – 400 EUR per person
    (Payment includes accommodation in double room, full board and entry fee).
  • Entry fee for player who is not accommodated in tournament hotel – 50 EUR per player,
  • Accommodation in single room, full board and entry fee – 500 EUR per person,
  • Transport of participants from airport to hotel and back – 50 EUR per person.

The participation costs should be paid on the Bank account of the organizer after the final registration but not later than 25th September 2022.
In special cases there will be possible of payment in cash in the arrival day.

14. Additional information

  • The 2nd IPCA Open World Individual Chess Championship for the Disabled, Rapid and Blitz 2022 will be played according to the FIDE rules in force since 01.01.2018 and the Chess rules for the disabled people.
  • The player who arrives at the round (at a chess board) with a delay of more than 15 minutes for Rapid (5 minutes for Blitz) after the start of the round, loses the game.
  • The decisions of the Chief arbiter during the competition are final.
  • In all matters not included in that Regulations decides the organizer of the championship.
  • For the capacity of the player to participation in the championship, as well as for his insurance are responsible the delegating organizations.
  • This tournament is one of the IPCA chess competitions for the IPCA players for qualification to the IPCA team for participation at the FIDE World Chess Olympiad among the disabled people.

The Regulations are the Invitation for participation in the competition!
